Extended Biography
Colt Camron Lien is currently serving as the Director of Choral Activities at the University of Arkansas-Monticello. A dynamic conductor and educator, he is known as a dedicated program builder who fosters exceptional growth and high-level artistry. He designs his concerts to be authentic musical experiences, thoughtfully programmed to explore diverse cultures and convey compelling human messages.
As the founder of the Runestone Chorale, Lien built a 50-voice community ensemble that, in its inaugural season, performed Dvorak's Te Deum with the Central Lakes Symphony Orchestra of Minnesota. He brings this same focus on growth and community engagement from his previous positions as a high school and church choir director.
Lien holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Concordia College. His mentors include Sandra Snow, Derrick Fox, David Rayl, Jonathan Reed, René Clausen, and Michael Culloton.
Beyond professional endeavors, Colt indulges in exploring diverse coffee blends at local cafes with colleagues, discovering scenic hiking trails with friends, and engaging in a round of golf before noon!
